Konark - Don’t just passby.

The charismatic Konark Sun temple which is designed as a enormous chariot stands surrendered to the Sun god. Built in 13th century , this temple has been declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The twelve pairs of large wheels(some about 3mts wide) and the seven horses pulling the chariot will grip your attention a little longer. Three images of the Sun god at three different directions are ignited by the rays of sun at different times of day- dawn ,noon and dusk. This temple, also known as “The Black Pagoda” by the European sailors, depicts carved pictures of animals like wild lion and war elephants. Konark tourism is the one the golden edges of the Golden Triangle Tour of Odisha Tourism.

The Natya Mandap (dancing podium), the Archaeological museum, the Naba Graha temple (temple of nine planets), the Ramchandi temple and the Vishnu temple are some of the places to visit in Konark. Apart from this, the beautiful beaches at Chandrabhaga and Ramchandi is one of the most sought after places in Odisha. The sun rise and sun set are a typical view to attach to your journey file. Enjoy water sports like jet skiing, scuba diving, surfing at Chandrabhaga beach. If planned before you too can witness the great Konark Dance Festival to watch various dance forms of Odiya culture while collapsing a little to the cold breeze of Chandrabhaga sea.
